Problem with the newly assembled PC failing to clear the display screen.
I’ve assembled a pc before but it lacked DDR5 and all the recent improvements. I ended up selling it when I shouldn’t have. Still, I’m pretty confused about the component setup right now. I built the machine, went to post, checked the screen and thought “okay perfect” just for me to hit del to enter setup—nothing happened. I looked at a few forum posts for troubleshooting, tried removing the GPU, storage, one stick of RAM, and even the CMOS battery. The only thing I didn’t do was take out the CPU because if it’s powered on it should work. (emphasis on the should) If anyone can assist, that would be really helpful.
Hello,
Here are the complete system specifications.
Thank you.
cpu is a ryzen 7 7800x3d
mobo is gigabyte b650 x ax
ram is g.skill flare x5 32gb ddr5 6000
gpu is gigabyte 2070 super
psu is nzxt 1000 gold
This situation could stem from various causes including a faulty component. Make sure all cables are securely connected. Review your motherboard schematic to determine if certain memory slots need to be prepared before installation. Verify compatibility with the CPU's supported motherboard revision in case your current one isn't updated by the supplier. Power on the device, leave it blank for five minutes to observe any behavior. Assume it hasn't been damaged or dropped; if no other issues arise and it still doesn't function, consider returning it.
It might be that the X3D CPU isn't compatible with your current BIOS version. Updating the BIOS could resolve this issue.
I’ll attempt this. I verified all the power connections and everything appears fine. The slots 2 and 4 for the memory are as indicated on the board.
I verified that the motherboard has supported the CPU since the initial BIOS, F1. Therefore, it must be another issue.
It’s really odd that the freeze persists regardless of the connection source, video card, or motherboard. While the risk of a bad board or CPU seems small, it’s not zero. I haven’t switched to a different keyboard yet. The one I used temporarily was a cheap model that came pre-built a long time ago.
Well…I would like to thank those that helped. I ended up switching out the keyboard and reset the cmos one more time and it booted right up. After I was still confused so I plugged in the old faulty keyboard and I was amazed. Half of the keys didn’t even register. I would’ve never thought this was possible but hey here we are lol
