I’ll connect to this discussion since these problems are connected. I’ve noticed another issue happening alongside the audio problem. When the PC is off, the RGB on my cooler stays on and all fans spin, even though the fans attached to it and the case fan controller remain active. It turns out that unplugging the 24-pin power connector from the motherboard stops everything. I suspect the motherboard is sending some voltage—probably around 5V—to the PSU. The situation got worse after I added three extra RGB fans using a second lighting node Pro and an RGB fan hub. Removing them didn’t fix it, so I’m convinced something on the motherboard is malfunctioning and might need replacement. I’d rather not spend money right now.

I also have three LL120s installed and my Asus Aura displays the rainbow effect when the PC powers down, even though I set it to Dark in Amoury Crate. iCUE is dimming everything except the LL120s on a temp monitor until around 85°C. Noticing that the RGB controller draws power from SATA and uses a USB passthrough from the motherboard, I’m curious if using M.2 slots might interfere with certain ports. It’s possible the M.2 slot could be bridging a circuit that keeps the RGB active during shutdown. It’s also conceivable the system is merely hibernating or entering sleep mode instead of fully shutting down. Both my gaming rig and my current web/media project sometimes restart when told to shut down. This seems linked to removing or disconnecting a USB Wi-Fi adapter I use. Another possibility is an intermittent boot issue with no video, possibly due to an x8 USB riser conflicting with the GPU, the PCIe3 M.2 slot conflicting with the GPU, or both. One suggestion was that the closest M.2 slot to the board would be more prone to conflict, or the secondary slot might not interfere at all. Sods law, I shared my thoughts... I resolved it. Discovered the problem. The sound stayed bad even though. It was a mix of my USB3 PCIE card and my Strafe MK.2. When the keyboard connects to the card, the fans kick in; they halt when unplugged and the RGB coolers dim. Plugging into the motherboard works fine! What I was counting on was my motherboard audio coming back to life, but it didn’t happen.
