After many attempts to diagnose, I identified the issue as a problem with my 4-year-old Asus Z170-A motherboard. It was one of the first gaming rigs I assembled in 2016, and its failure was disappointing despite expectations for an ASUS product. Early signs pointed to memory instability, which I confirmed by booting memtest86—it failed to load. The system would freeze during BIOS setup, displaying unusual green lines on the screen. I considered selling it on eBay for parts or seeking advice from others.

Consider who might be responsible—it seems the memory module is the issue.

If the reset and BIOS update fail, discard it for recycling.

Probably not, people wouldn't want to purchase it in parts.

Only minimal components are available from a bare motherboard.
