I bought a used MacBook Air from 2014 and did a factory reset. I upgraded to El Capitan then moved to Catalina after the update completed, but the computer restarted again to finish updating. Once it restarted, nothing changed.
It means there is no alteration or shift whatsoever. In "About this mac," it likely emphasizes stability, consistency, or the idea that nothing is being altered in the current context.
