Hi guys, So a friend of mine has been having some trouble with his laptop. It’s an Acer with i5-3337u and a GT 710m, he only uses it for web browsing and eventually he used to play some Fifa 14, which he had no problem running. He is now trying to play fifa15 but he is getting some unusual poor performance, I decided to take a look at it and well.... The problem I find is that when full load on CPU and GPU, in this case I used aida64 to benchmark, the CPU will clock itself down to its minimum clock speed (800mhz), note that temperatures are fine and there is no thermal throttling. If I turn OFF the GPU load the CPU will clock itself back up to about 2.5 GHz. Also when the test is finished clock speed are normal. The computer is running on high performance mode and I have tried will all power configurations. I tried formatting and reinstalling drivers but got the same result. I have attached some screen shots so you can take a look. Thank you in advance.

Check if your GPU supports FIFA15; lack of support might affect performance. Also test on his laptop: http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri

Yes, it seems NVIDIA provides drivers for FIFA 15. I've tested them at lower settings and resolutions, but they can't play the game properly. It appears the laptop is experiencing a general performance issue, not just with FIFA.

The laptop might be limiting performance due to overheating, so consider using a cooler.

Temperatures exceed 80°C and throttling is not occurring.
