Problem with starting Windows 11
Hello everyone, I’m going to keep it brief. I came home today and attempted to turn on my computer, but the BIOS splash screen took a long time and nothing happened. I tried opening BIOS but couldn’t access it. After shutting off the PC several times, the advanced troubleshoot screen appeared. I tried startup repair, but it failed. System restore didn’t work, system image recovery also failed, and uninstalling updates didn’t help. In the command prompt, I ran chkdsk and it reported corrupted files, though it fixed them each time. Diskpart indicated all volumes were RAW data, suggesting they might be unreadable. After some attempts, I got back into BIOS and detected my SSD as a boot device, but none of the bootrec commands worked for me. What should I do?
Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
My cpu is a ryzen 5 5600x, motherboard is gigabyte b550m ds3h, I only have one drive and it’s an nvme kingston SSD
Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
I noticed the bios splash screen was taking very long and nothing was happening
Could be possible that the SSD has conked out.
What can I do?
If you have mission critical data on the drive, I'd advice on not tampering with the SSD any further. If the SSD's controller is the root cause of the issue, you'll need to apply for an RMA if you've yet got warranty on the drive.
