Problem with starting USB Windows!
Hi,
I just moved my computer to a new rog strix b550 mobo because the old one was acting up.
I formatted the SSD in preparation for a fresh Windows 11 installation.
But when I try to boot from USB, the system won’t load Windows.
I’ve used the Windows tool to create a boot media and even tried Rufus to make a USB drive, but both failed.
After exiting BIOS, I see the Windows logo spinning endlessly, though that’s all I can manage.
I also updated the BIOS to the latest version.
Anyone have an idea why this might be happening?
Do you have the complete system specifications? Would it work with all USB ports?
The Windows installer handles formatting and partitioning without requiring a formatted disk, it manages this process itself. It functions most smoothly when the disk contains only a GPT partition table header; the rest of the space can remain unallocated. You might want to verify whether your SSD includes a GPT header and remove any existing partitions that are present.
You might launch the Windows Disk Management tool. At the top where each drive is listed, click right-click on the correct drive and choose Properties, then pick Volumes. A window will appear showing the partition type, which should likely be GPT. If it displays MBR, there should be a choice to transform it into GPT. Should there be existing partitions, the application can remove them. The installation software should then be able to clear any remaining data on the drive.
