Problem with starting the computer after upgrading RAM.
Problem with starting the computer after upgrading RAM.
I'm dealing with an unusual problem on my PC. It began after I installed two more identical RAM modules to what I already had. At first, everything functioned properly, but a few days later strange signs appeared. The DRAM indicator remains active, and the system fails to pass the POST sequence. After several attempts to power it on and off, it eventually starts up, though it doesn't recognize peripherals such as the mouse, keyboard, or network connection. After a few restarts, the peripherals work correctly again.
I removed the two additional RAM sticks and reset the CMOS, but the issue continues. Over time, the problem intensified and now the PC doesn’t pass the POST at all. I’ve rechecked the CMOS settings, reinserted all components, and even updated the BIOS, yet the situation remains unresolved. I replaced the CMOS battery and tested each RAM slot individually, but nothing resolved it.
Currently, the system only boots when using slots 1 and 3 (which is not ideal), but the peripheral issue still exists. If I try using slots 2 and 4 for the memory, the DRAM light turns on and the PC fails to boot entirely.
Although I manage to get the PC operational, the initial boot is challenging, often needing several restarts for the peripherals to respond normally. All drivers are up to date, and Windows was recently reinstalled on a new SSD.
I spoke to two local repair shops. One suggested the problem might lie with the processor, while the other pointed to the motherboard. However, neither performed a thorough diagnostic, which would have required keeping the PC with them for several days (impractical given my work commitments).
I’m becoming increasingly frustrated as I’ve tried every solution available in forums and nothing seems to resolve the matter. If you have any insights into what might be causing this, I would really appreciate your assistance.

What is the BIOS version for your motherboard right now?
To reset your CMOS, unplug the power supply and display, then remove the CMOS battery. Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds, then replace the battery after 30 minutes. Try it out.

Update: PC started after roughly 2 minutes yesterday and today, with the DRAM LED illuminated, but froze at the VGA LED. Restarted once and it froze at the BOOT LED. After two more restarts, it worked properly. All components disconnected, CMOS cleared and reconnected. Same issue continues.
