You should be able to simply unscrew and take it off. If you remove the heatsink, you'll need new pads. Check if they can ship more with the return of the tower. I'm not sure what SSD you have, so I don't know if it will work without the heatsink. Most of them are fine without them. However, some might overheat when handling large data volumes.
My motherboard had a GPU mount that concealed the screws needed to take out the SSD, making me cautious about removing them. The mount remained fixed even after taking off the screws, so I hesitated to apply force. I reached out to the seller, who advised using some pressure on the bracket to release it, which I did, and that revealed the screws for the SSDs. I was able to take off the SSDs while keeping the adhesive pads intact. Can I reuse them later when I install them again?
Well, I received my PC back today from the seller. They confirmed there were no issues with the system and returned my own GPU. I was a bit worried, but when I tried to boot it, the same error sound appeared. The monitor didn’t turn on at all. So I turned off the PC, checked the power connection to the monitor, and when I firmly plugged in the power cable again, it started working. After that, I managed to boot it up without any errors!
I’ve never had issues turning on the PC without a monitor connected before. Why did my PC make a boot error sound when the monitor wasn’t on? Is this typical? Now both my built-in GPU and the dedicated GPU are functioning properly with the monitor attached. Previously, when the monitor wasn’t properly powered (connection loose), both GPUs also emitted the same error sound, even without a monitor. This is quite unusual!
A loose connection can cause that. That's one of the usual suggestions I make to individuals. I hope that's the only thing.
