Problem with starting system - unable to install Windows
Hello. I'm really struggling and have been trying to fix this issue for five days now. I've updated the BIOS recently, but after that, none of my drives appear during boot selection except the SATA SSD. Windows 10 is installed on one of my M2 SSDs. I've searched and tried various solutions on the BIOS, but nothing worked. I switched from UEFI to CSM, but I still can't open Windows. I attempted to install a fresh OS on one drive, but the Windows USB isn't bootable either. The computer freezes when the motherboard logo appears, and it doesn't work with both UEFI and CSM options.
After updating the BIOS, I realized the problem might lie with the motherboard itself. I purchased a new Asus TUF Gaming B550 M+ WiFi board. The same issue persists—my drives aren't selectable during boot via UEFI. The M2 SSD with Windows installed is selectable on CSM but can't be opened. The Windows USB also doesn't boot and freezes when the motherboard logo appears.
I've tried several fixes: both UEFI-CSM boot, Windows USB installation, unplugging all SATA drives and SSDs except the Windows one, and updating the BIOS.
Notes:
All my drives are visible on the BIOS storage screen, along with RAM and CPU details. I'm unsure if the CPU or RAM is the cause, but I don't have access to Windows or other CPUs/ram for testing. Can you help me determine whether the issue lies with the processor or memory?
I did memtest for the rams and both are %100 okay.
Is there a way to test cpu and psu while on bios? I want to know which hardware is faulty so I can change it.
I attempted to use ultimatebootcd from a usb to stress test cpu but it freezes when I boot into the usb like windows usb.
