I don't think you're getting the right setup. I connected my PC to the TV using HDMI, but when checking the sound settings in the playback panel, it shows no connection.

Have you checked the device manager for any entries? (Assuming Windows) Also, verify if the cable and/or HDMI port functions with audio on other devices.

I'm using 10 pro. The HDMI cable connected to a Nintendo switch and everything is working fine. It's getting late, so I'm reaching out for the night to follow up tomorrow about any updates from Device Manager.

Opened the Device Manager and saw multiple entries for AMD, HD Audio, and Nvidia audio devices.

I pressed the sound icon at the bottom right and selected Nvidia high definition audio device output, which prompted the system to restart for driver installation. Despite restarting, no output devices appeared. Would you need a sound card for this process to complete?

The computer required a Windows update, which resolved the issues and made the audio function properly.
