Problem with software failing to set up on a brand-new Windows 10 system
I've been using an authorized Adobe CS 5.5 license for many years, originally installed with Windows 7 before upgrading to Windows 10. It worked until my hard drive failed. Now I have a new HDD and install fresh Windows 10, but the reliable Adobe software won't install. I've tried compatibility mode, but it doesn't work. If I could afford updated Adobe, I would, but I can't. What should I do? I'm considering using Rufus to boot from Windows 7 and set up a dual boot, though I have no experience with that setup. Any advice on resolving this issue?
It seems to be an outdated setup. Shortly after its release, they moved to the CC model, which was a completely different service, making it quickly obsolete. Nonetheless, I experienced no problems with it on my current system running Windows 10—it ran smoothly even under heavy load with many files open. I’m confident it will function if installed. When launching the installer, it presented itself well, even in compatibility mode, which gave me hope. This tool serves as the gateway for installing Adobe applications, essentially representing what Adobe CC offers today. You can’t just install the apps separately from the disk; the installation process is tied to the service. The last Windows version I used was 7, and I recall successfully reinstalling on Windows 8.1 before Windows 10. If you have experience, you might have tried dual booting with Windows 7, but I haven’t done that before and am curious about other options or strategies.
