Problem with setting up a basic server build.
I've been collecting old computer components for a budget server project over the past three years. It's designed for a family Minecraft server and some slower SFTP needs. The setup uses an Athlon 200GE and an ASRock A320M-DGS motherboard, which seems to be the starting point of the problem. During assembly, I encountered some typical challenges. I realized I needed to upgrade my BIOS to support a newer Raven Ridge CPU, but I might have pushed it too far—even with a Ryzen 3 1300X, the update process stopped working. What should I do next?
It varies based on the update version, but the 1300X was likely removed from the catalog. The BIOS it supports is large enough for Agesa code across four generations of processors. However, the Athlon 200GE works with every board and BIOS revision. This chip is also used to flash boards during AMD's RMA process. You should reinstall the 200GE and choose an older BIOS to run the 1300X with that board. GL!
