Hey there! This is my first time posting. Often when I switch tabs, I see the window preview doesn’t match the actual aspect ratio. Normally, resizing the window should make it align properly. The text tends to stretch awkwardly instead. I’ve attached a YouTube video for more details at the bottom of this post.

At first, I thought it was just a strange Windows quirk, so I left it. But after a few times, I tried booting in safe mode with networking, and the problem returned. That led me to suspect a Windows or hardware issue since safe mode turns off third-party apps and drivers—including my GPU driver, which caused the screen to freeze at 60Hz.

Then I downloaded the latest stable ISO (version 23h2) from uup dump and installed it using Rufus via USB. The same issue appeared after a few hours.

I’ve had this machine for about nine months now. It’s been stable, running gaming all day. I haven’t seen any driver timeouts or memory crashes. It only stutters at 1440p when running intensive tasks, but it works fine otherwise. I ran Memtest and stress-tested the GPU for hours—no problems.

I replaced the DP cable and confirmed the GPU isn’t daisy-chained. My RAM is dual-channel, and my CPU runs cooler than my GPU (which is great). It mostly works in Firefox, Command Prompt, and IntelliJ IDEA. It seems to happen more often after gaming or benchmarking sessions with heavy GPU load, but it also occurs right after startup.

It’s not a huge concern, but I’m worried it could worsen if it’s hardware-related. Since it survived a Windows update, I’m not sure it’s a core issue. The only fixes I know are restarting the app or Explorer.exe, but those suggest a software problem rather than a hardware fault. If it really was my GPU or memory, that wouldn’t be possible to fix with software.

Any thoughts? Thanks for reading!
