Problem with Ram overclocking not achieving stated performance.
7820x was overclocked to 4.5 ghz at 1.17V
X299 rog strix-XE
32gb (4x8) rated at 2666 mhz
I've noticed that no matter what I do, the RAM doesn't reach even the advertised 2666 mhz and starts showing lower amounts in the BIOS.
At 2400 it works fine
At 2666 it only recognizes 24gb
At 2800 it might show 16 or 8 depending on tuning
And at 3000 it won't boot and I had to clear CMOS
I've used both XMP profiles and manually adjusted timings without any change
I also tried increasing the voltage to 1.35 but didn't see any improvement.
Unclear why I can't really overclock the RAM at all.
