Hello everyone, I'm working on a custom PC with older workstation components and have hit a tough roadblock after many attempts. I’m looking for advice from anyone experienced with legacy NVIDIA cards or Chinese X79 boards. The challenge: the NVIDIA Quadro K600 driver doesn’t install properly on Windows 10 Pro x64. No scaling works, desktop resolution isn’t applied, and the Control Panel vanishes. Windows recognizes the card but treats it as a generic display adapter. Installing drivers silently fails or produces errors. Device Manager sometimes shows a warning triangle. Specifics: GPU is Quadro K600 (Kepler, PCIe 2.0, single-slot workstation), motherboard is SHAOZHAOYUAN X79 from AliExpress, CPU is Intel Xeon E5-2660, 32GB DDR3 RAM, OS is Windows 10 Pro 22H2 (fully updated). Tested drivers: 472.12 WHQL (Standard), plus older versions like 441.66 and 431.86. I’ve tried a clean Windows 10 install, used DDU in Safe Mode, attempted both standard and DCH drivers, but nothing works. Windows Update stopped supporting the driver two years ago. I’ve swapped disks, reset BIOS, optimized defaults, and confirmed power supply is sufficient. I’ve encountered similar issues with this X79 board and an AMD FirePro W4100 before. Past builds ran smoothly on other systems like Dell OptiPlex. Key questions: Could the motherboard’s handling of UEFI/legacy drivers be the root cause for workstation GPUs? It seems the motherboard isn’t compatible with your Quadro GPU. Consider switching to another GPU model, or if that fails, opt for a genuine board from reputable brands like ASUS, MSI, EVGA, or Gigabyte.

I wasn't inquiring about purchasing additional components. My focus was on ensuring those parts functioned properly.

You're facing an issue where the motherboard rejects your GPU due to compatibility problems. It might be necessary to upgrade to a GTX version or purchase a new motherboard from companies like EVGA, ASUS, MSI, or Gigabyte. Sometimes these manufacturers don't work well together.

If it worked before but stopped functioning now, you might want to test an older version of Windows 10. You'll miss those crucial security patches, but maybe the performance benefits outweigh that concern for your needs.
