Problem with power supply or hardware issues.
Hey everyone. There were major problems with the PC I sold. It came with a B450 Plus Ryzen 2600X with 16GB DDR4 3200MHz and other components like an X6700 and 6700X. Everything functioned perfectly at first. No issues with any parts. The seller upgraded it to a 5800X3D, 16GB Corsair DDR4 3600, updated BIOS to 4003, etc. But since then the machine wouldn’t start, didn’t shut down, and would freeze. Temperatures were normal, CPU was running at high load, stress levels were high. It worked fine for a week before it crashed while editing a video. It had to be turned off, and it wouldn’t power back on. Even though I’m experienced, I don’t know what’s causing the problem—maybe the new CPU is unstable. Could it be RAM or the motherboard failing? The M.2 lights are on but nothing else works. After removing the RAM, sometimes I get a fix. Thanks for your help!
You're right, though I wasn't seeking guidance on an after-sale matter. Perhaps I should have considered your perspective on the actual problem. Anyway, I switched to a different (450) motherboard—seems the Prime B450 Plus isn't compatible with the 5000 series chips, even with BIOS support. That's disappointing since I already have another B450 motherboard with a 5900x built. Still, I'm hoping it's just this board and not a general issue.
