Hello, I just finished assembling a gaming PC and shared the details below. After roughly a month, a surge in my building’s power caused the motherboard and PSU to fail. I swapped them out and installed a UPS to safeguard my system moving forward. Initially, I purchased a 600VA/300W APC UPS and returned to gaming. While playing Valhiem, it began beeping and reported exceeding its load (indicating +300W usage). I assumed the issue was with the unit itself or an incorrect size, so I replaced it with a larger 1500VA/900W APC model. Now, monitoring via HWinfo64 shows the load stays below 54W. Specs: AMD Ryzen 7600X, ASUS TUF 4070Ti OC, 32GB DDR5, 6000GSkill Ripjaws, ASUS Strix B650E-F, Wi-Fi 2x, WD Black SSDs, Corsair RM850X, and a PSU. Was the beeping caused by my building’s power instability or my equipment? Any advice would be greatly appreciated! Thanks a lot! Broth Boi

A 300W device won't power your PC from a battery either—it might drain the battery quickly. The claimed load of 54 watts is likely only during idle; gaming usage would be inefficient.

I'll look into the matter further. Even during benchmark tests (3D Mark Time Spy and RD2), the result remained at 54.

It doesn't provide a good reading experience.

The system needs to extract 400W to 450W from the UPS while running, adding 35-60W per monitor and some extra for other devices. Does the UPS lack a load display?

It functions with a display on the UPS confirming the HWinfo report of 54W. I’m checking if this reading applies only to my two monitors and not your PC at all. The manual doesn’t mention any outlets excluded from the measurement, which seems unlikely.

It works with a screen on the UPS confirming the hardware info as 54W. I’m checking if that reading only reflects my two monitors and not the PC itself. The manual doesn’t mention any excluded outlets, which makes sense. I’ve switched the outlets and tested: monitors were on battery while the PC was connected to surge power. I realized I hadn’t done a thorough check before. Thanks for your assistance!

I've been there, done that, and completely overlooked it.
