I noticed issues with loading the pass loadingscreen or menu in some games. I thought it might be due to power constraints from my TX650M PSU, but checking the event view logs revealed numerous kernel power critical error events. I tried using a Thermaltake Power GT750W PSU from a friend for testing, yet the PC still shut down during gameplay, even though some titles perform well.

The games that frequently cause problems are:
Palworld
Soulstone Survivors
Smite 2
Legacy Steel and Sorcery
Bapbap
Games with medium to high graphics settings and solid FPS:
Marvel rivals
Wukong Blackmyth
Throne and Liberty
The Ascent
Deadlock
Helldivers 2
The Division 2

This is my system configuration:
CPU: Ryzen 7 5800x
CPU Cooler: ID-Cooling FROSTFLOW X 240 SNOW
Motherboard: B550 Pro-Vhd Wifi
RAM: Vengeance LPX 8GB DDR4 DRAM 3200MHz C16 x4
SSD: Samsung 970 EVO PLUS 500gb
Silicon Power 2TB UD90
GPU: Palit RTX 2080 Super GP OC
PSU: Corsair TX650M
Chassis: Carbide 275r
OS: Windows 11

Monitor:
Main - Samsung 34" G55T
Secondary - LG 27MR400-B

I attempted several fixes without success:
- Upgraded PSU from 650W to 750W
- Lowered power limits by 20-25% using MSI Afterburner
- Updated drivers from old to latest (560 → 576)
- Thoroughly cleaned the system, removing six months of dust buildup

After testing Cinebench and FurMark for five minutes without issues, the PC remained stable.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
When posting a thread of troubleshooting nature, it's customary to include your full system's specs. Please list the specs to your build like so:
CPU:
CPU cooler:
Motherboard:
Ram:
SSD/HDD:
GPU:
PSU:
Chassis:
OS:
Monitor:
include the age of the PSU apart from it's make and model. BIOS version for your motherboard at this moment of time.
I borrowed a thermaltake 750w psu from a friend
Thermaltake is the brand of the unit while 750W is the advertsied wattage of the PSU, we'll need to know the model and age of the unit. Considering you borrowed it from a friend, what did the PSU power on your friend's rig?

Do you possess multiple drives? Are the problematic games located on the identical drive as those without issues?

When I arrive, I'll need to verify the age of the psu and bios versions. The borrowed psu is a Toughpower GT750W ATX 3.1 UK Spec, purchased three months ago, used with a budget build (Gigabyte GTX 1650+ Zeon 2680 V4 Kit from Aliexpress).

Yes, I agree.
The issues leading to sudden power loss occur with the same driver.

Consider relocating the affected games to another drive and observe whether the issue persists.

Hi, I understand Teknoman2's suggestion about moving your game to a different drive from Windows and checking if that resolves the problem. Perhaps applying high-quality thermal paste to your CPU could also be beneficial. Your cooler is definitely able to handle the heat in gaming situations. Overheating can lead to crashes and other issues you don't want. As someone who has been playing games since the early 2000s, I've always kept my games on a separate drive with a desktop shortcut across different Windows versions. If Windows encounters problems, you won't need to reload your games if they're stored elsewhere. I hope you can identify the root cause of your issues and get your PC running smoothly again. There are people here who can assist you. Cheers.

All my games run on a driver independent of the operating system.
