Problem with PC freezing or crashing.
I've faced some issues with my PC recently. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X with 32GB DDR4 3200MHz Trident Z Royal RAM and an MSI 3060 Ti Ventus OC 2x. The problems seem to appear only during gaming sessions, usually when playing games with freeze. My screen goes black randomly, but I can still see distorted text from Discord or the game itself. I have to restart the computer to fix it. I'm not sure what's causing this. I've been using undervolt settings on my GPU because of high temperatures, and according to what I read, that should be fine. The card isn't overheating during crashes, which makes it hard to monitor anything else. Any advice would be really helpful.
It might be related to a faulty GPU, RAM, motherboard, or power supply. Are these issues limited to certain games? Also, what type of PSU do you have? Edit: You mentioned you adjusted the voltage. Were you simply adjusting it down, or did you also lower the clock speed? If it was just the voltage adjustment, that could be contributing to the crashes under load.
I’ve been gaming Rust lately, especially after I followed an undervolting tutorial on YouTube. I think I pushed the memory limits and adjusted the core clock settings. That’s the method I used, and so far everything’s fine. The first crash happened around a month ago, and there have been a few more since then.
Remove the modifications you applied and test it in stock mode for some time. Lowering power and boosting memory clock speed are typical reasons for GPU artifacts.
