Hello everyone.
Today I purchased a 1tb NVMe drive to enhance my PC storage. I already have two hard drives and a 1TB SATA SSD, and I've been using W11 for about five years. My intention was to transfer the operating system from the old SSD to the new NVMe drive, and I used a tool named MiniTool Partition Wizard, version 10.0.
This was my first attempt, and I didn’t anticipate any issues, since my SSD is only 120GB with around 15GB free, leaving plenty of space.
The challenge came when the program prompted me to restart my PC because the SSD was in use. It took about 10 minutes just to shut it down, and when it restarted, it froze on the Gigabyte Splash Screen. I have several options available—pressing "DEL" to enter BIOS, F12 to view boot settings, F9 to check system information, and "END" to trigger Q-FLASH—but I couldn’t access any of them. My keyboard stopped working, and even my mouse LEDs were on but not functional.
I attempted to disconnect all peripherals, reset CMOs, perform a hard shutdown, but nothing resolved the problem.
Here are my specifications:
- Ryzen 5 2600 processor
- Motherboard Gigabyte AB350 DS3H
- 16GB RAM at 3000MHz (two 8GB units from Corsair)
- AMD Sapphire RX 6600
- EVGA PSU 550W B3
- Two HDDs (1TB and 300GB)
- One SATA SSD running W11
- One NVMe M.2 1TB drive

Turn off all drives and connect your discrete GPU to the monitor, then access BIOS to check the current BIOS version.

My BIOS version is F30, I upgraded it a few years ago.
My PSU is around 5 to 6 years old.
It doesn't matter whether I have a backup or not, since most of my data is on other hard drives.
I just need to transfer the OS from one disk to another without losing my license.
Would you suggest flashing a new W11 on the new NVMe and then formatting the SSD?

I removed all the drives and went to bios, where it displayed my current bios version.
Connected all my SATA disks; the system booted normally after adding the nvme.
When I tried to enter windows, the partition wizard warned it would run a copy but I stopped it since the nvme was not connected.
What advice would you have?
