Problem with newly added memory capacity.
Problem with newly added memory capacity.
I own an older PC with an i5 6th generation processor, 8GB RAM, a 1TB hard drive, a 2GB GT 710 graphics card, and a 450W power supply. My dad uses it mainly for light tasks like browsing Google Chrome. He rarely closes tabs, leaving many open in Chrome. Occasionally the computer experiences slight lag, but it’s not severe. To improve performance, I replaced the existing RAM with a new 8GB Corsair Vengeance LPX stick of the same type and speed. The only difference was the old RAM was black while the new one is red (since the black model was more expensive). After installing the new RAM, everything seemed to work properly—displaying 16GB of RAM. However, when I tried to install a game, it froze repeatedly. I thought it was an issue with the installer, so I restarted and retried the installation. The same problem occurred again later, even while watching YouTube for a few hours. If you notice any mistakes or issues, please let me know!
