Hi everyone, I recently assembled my first PC about a week ago and have encountered significant slowdowns or lag once Windows loads. My performance is around 10 FPS on the home screen, and even without any applications running, it takes several seconds for the mouse to respond. The BIOS interface functions properly. Here are my system details:

- Motherboard: MSI B650M Project Zero
- Power Supply: MSI MAG A1000GL
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 7800x3d
- GPU: MSI 4070TI Super Ventus 2x OC
- SSD: Samsung 990 PRO 2TB
- RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR5 CL30 32GB AMD Expo
- Cooler: MSI Mag coreliquid E360
- CPU temperatures are normal, around 30°C when idle.

I’ve updated the BIOS to the latest version and reinstalled Windows twice. I was able to open BG3, but the GPU only outputs up to 80W under load. A local shop confirmed similar behavior, suggesting a GPU problem requiring an RMA. They also verified everything was correctly installed in safe mode.

I plan to return tomorrow and try installing an older GPU to resolve the issue. Any suggestions? Could it be a motherboard or CPU fault? Thanks in advance for your advice!

Check Task Manager and Resource Monitor to see how the PC is operating or attempting tasks. Use each tool individually, focusing on one at a time. The goal is to identify which system resources are being utilized, how much each resource is consumed, and the degree of usage. Start by observing performance with the current GPU, then compare it with the older GPU. Keep in mind that labeling the GPU as "older" might affect accuracy. Be thorough in noting any variations related to the differences between the two GPUs.
