Hi everyone,
I recently upgraded my PC and added a new motherboard along with some RAM modules I already had. After finishing the installation, I’ve observed occasional shutdowns and restarts under heavy load (no BSOD), or rare memory management errors (BSOD) that always appear. This seems to happen at least once daily, possibly more often.

I attempted a fresh Windows 11 install after replacing the motherboard, but the problem persists. Additionally, my PSU lacks the extra CPU power cable, so the four-pin connector isn’t being used. According to MSI’s support page, this is mainly for overclocking, which I’m not doing, so could this be the cause?

Here are my current specs:
- Ryzen 7 5800X
- Corsair 2x16GB 3200 C16 (clocked down to 3000, slots 1 and 3)
- Corsair 2x16GB 3000 C16 (slots 2 and 4)
- MSI X570 CARBON MAX WIFI
- RTX 3060 ti Founders Edition
- 4xM.2 (various sizes, 1xGen4)
- 700W PSU (brand unknown, likely Cooler Master)

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Combining RAM modules isn't always reliable, have you attempted using the latest ones in slots 2 and 4?

Verify this information. As far as I understand, only a limited number of high-quality power supplies reach 700w; most are either 650w or 750w.
Take a photo of the label on the side of the unit and share it here.

It seems to function well using only 4 or 8 pins.
