I'm facing several problems with Windows 10 and network drives. My Synology DS215J sometimes shows up as accessible in Windows on my main PC but not consistently over the network on other systems and laptops. After watching a YouTube tutorial, I tried some steps from it to fix the issue, but the drive still won't connect. A cumulative update for August was installed recently, yet I lost access again. I'm hoping someone with more networking experience can assist me.

Is this a shared folder? Have you attempted to connect a network drive in File Explorer using \\ip or hostname\dir?

I believe it's probably okay and I've tested both IP and hostname settings. The only way to regain access once it disappears is to remove the device from the device manager and reinstall it.

Your SMB server seems to appear normally in Explorer, but you're still unsure about its status. It might be a temporary issue or something else affecting visibility.
