Problem with MSI Meg X570 ACE PCIe card
Problem with MSI Meg X570 ACE PCIe card
I bought a Sunix UPD2018-B USB-C PCIe addon card and it keeps freezing into BIOS Code 94 during startup. I checked online and found the problem might be related to PCIe enumeration. After talking with MSI, they confirmed the card isn’t compatible with the X570 platform. They contacted Sunix, who sent screenshots showing the card working properly. Sunix also reached out to a MSI contact who provided similar images. I assumed the hardware was faulty and returned it to Amazon, but the issue persists. I’ve tested all PCI slots, upgraded my BIOS to recent versions, yet Code 94 appears every time I try to boot. I’m wondering if others have faced the same problem. My system includes: AMD Ryzen 9 3950X, NZXT Kraken X73, 360mm G.Skill Trident Z Neo, 64GB Samsung 970 Evo Plus, plus two 2TB drives (Samsung 970 Evo Plus and Sapphire Pulse 5600XT). I’m seeking advice or confirmation from others who’ve encountered this issue.
I need to know which board and BIOS they are using. The details about initialization steps and capabilities are helpful, but I require confirmation on the specific hardware and software in place. Once I have that information, I can advise properly. If you're considering a replacement, make sure to bring the serial number for warranty purposes.
The screenshot from Sunix came from an MSI Prestige X570 built with BIOS E7C36AMS.181, dated around June 2, 2020. I had to revert my board to an older version and it didn’t function properly. They also shared a photo of an X570 Aorus Elite WiFi but didn’t mention the BIOS. It’s odd I have a Dell OptiPlex SFF 7020 with a 4th Gen Core I-5, which runs perfectly. It’s disappointing my nearly $400 motherboard can’t match such an older PC that cost only $100.
It seems unclear what you're trying to convey. Based on what you said, I'm interpreting you as considering the board's situation without knowing more details. I would support the board based on the available information.
