Hi, your BIOS update issue sounds tricky. The new version you're getting is 7984vBD, but the files you have are a ZIP with just a text file and an image file named 'E7984IMS.BD0'. You've also reformatted the USB drive using FAT32 and made several copies of the BIOS files. When trying to flash via M-Flash, only the folder structure on the USB appears, not the actual files. This might mean the system isn't recognizing the updated BIOS despite having it copied. The memory stability problems you mentioned with XMP on your G.skill Trident Z 3200MHz could be related to proper file placement or compatibility settings. Double-check that the updated BIOS is correctly installed and try booting from a clean USB without any extra files. If issues persist, consider consulting the manufacturer's support for BIOS-specific guidance.

Hi, I see the issue with your MSI Z170's BIOS update. The infinite loop in the folder suggests a problem with the update process itself. Have you tried restarting the PC or checking for any pending updates? If the issue persists, you might need to consult the official Microsoft support or the manufacturer's documentation for further assistance.

No, I didn't unzip the files before placing them on the USB drive.

Hi, I didn’t post whether it would work or not, lol sorry. It looks like there are many MSI Z170 Krait versions and the BIOS from one won’t fit another. I recommend finding the exact model of your motherboard, then download the corresponding BIOS files. Save them to a USB drive and create copies for both packed and unpacked versions. Just because something showed up first on Google doesn’t mean it’s the right one—visit their official site directly and check for the correct listing. There might be similar pages, but they’re not the genuine product.
