Problem with Macrium Reflect clone installation
Problem with Macrium Reflect clone installation
I’m attempting to duplicate my SSD (256GB, with only about 2GB free) onto a bigger one (1TB) using Macrium Reflect Free. I managed to assign all the remaining free space to the C: drive, keeping its NTFS Active partition identical in size to the original and making the NTFS Primary Partition slightly larger than the original, ensuring all three partitions remain in the same sequence as before. However, the clone process stopped abruptly. In the progress bar, the NTFS Primary partition was successfully copied, but the cloning of C: encountered an error. When I checked Disk Management, only the original SSD appeared, not the newly initialized one. Could you offer any advice on what might have gone wrong or how to proceed? Thanks!
Assuming the system functions correctly with the original drive, begin anew.
But I'm sure I did everything right, as my husband and I just used Macrium Reflect to clone his SSD to a new one yesterday. The main change was that he opted for the 30-day trial and chose "Fill Space" to assign extra space to C:, whereas I used a free version of Macrium Reflect that was already installed. I moved each partition sequentially and, when placing the final NTFS Primary partition behind it, specified the desired space allocation for the C: partition.
