Hello everyone,

I recently replaced my graphics card – a GTX 750ti – with a GTX 1070Ti to improve my frame rates and general system performance. Initially, for the initial seven days following installation, games performed exceptionally well. I enjoy playing Fortnite and Grand Theft Auto V, both of which operated flawlessly during this period. In Fortnite, I achieved between 100 and 120 frames per second on maximum settings. With Grand Theft Auto V, I consistently maintained approximately 100 FPS at high configurations. However, after a week, I turned on my computer and began playing Grand Theft Auto V again to discover that my frame rates had drastically decreased. I was perplexed and conducted tests on Fortnite, finding the identical problem. I am concerned about this issue and uncertain of any potential solutions.

Here are my system specifications:
CPU: i7 6700 (Non-K)
GPU: Asus GTX 1070Ti ROG Strix 8GB
RAM: 4GB DDR3
HDD: 2 TB
SSD: 128GB
PSU: 650W

I would greatly appreciate any assistance you can offer.

Thank you.

What’s causing the problem with only 4GB of RAM? That's likely the root cause!

The SubaruWRX244:

Why is your system limited to just 4GB of memory? That’s likely the problem. I anticipated this would restrict my performance, so I bought an additional 8GB of RAM from Newegg before acquiring my graphics card. It's currently in transit. However, I’m also curious—if RAM is the root cause of the problem, why did it suddenly become noticeable after approximately a week of operation?
