Problem, or just me: Hi Guys, I've just recently build a PC. Here's the build: Processor: AMD Ryzen 3 1200 RAM: Patroit Viper 2x4 GB DDR4 3000 Memory GPU: STRIX GTX 970 MotherBoard:ASrock B450 Pro4-F PSU:EVGA 500W 80+ Certified ATX Monitor:HANNS G By HANNSPREE Still when i'm playing a game like League of Legends i get FPS drops to 60-70 when it gets crowded. I would think that i shouldn't be happening with this build or am I wrong? or is it normal? I have already ran DDU and installed latest Nvidia drivers but it didn't help. With my old GPU,CPU,PSU and motherboard i was getting same frames and these were pretty bad pc parts. I was wonder are these frames normal for my PC? I hope you guys can help?or is it me not understanding.

Initially, you might have a high-end RAM setup, but unless it’s operating at its maximum speed, it’s likely capped around 2133 MHz. Most Ryzen 1000 CPUs don’t support speeds above 3000, though some motherboards do accept XMP profiles for that. Your 970 chipset card works with 2933 and higher; verify in the BIOS settings to enable XMP.

The 970 is a solid choice, but the R3 1200 processor is relatively slow, especially since it’s a quad-core with four threads, which most modern games now require at least eight threads. Still, your motherboard is decent. If you’re committed to the Ryzen 1000 line because of cost, you can upgrade later to a 1600X or 1700X model and gain significant performance improvements. With timely BIOS updates, you could easily switch to Ryzen 2000 or 3000 6/8 core chips, possibly even handling modern 12-core systems smoothly—especially with good case ventilation.

Make sure your RAM module matches the specification (PV48G300C6K) for compatibility with the Ryzen 2000. If it fits, you’re on a viable upgrade route. For a budget option, a 120 USD upgrade to a 1600X is available, and a 200 USD upgrade to a 3600X is also possible if you ever consider a CPU jump.
