my friend recently purchased a 4K LG OLED TV and was experimenting with it. it appears his GTX 970 can stream 4K at 120Hz via its HDMI connection. based on what we've learned, it might be a particular version of his EVGA 970 that supports this feature, or there could be another reason. in my setup, the 970 doesn't let me go beyond 1440p even in DSR mode over HDMI, which is confusing. i think someone mentioned that HDMI 2.0 could potentially handle 4K at 120Hz in certain situations—maybe we just got lucky. as for the HDR setting, it seems to work smoothly without any error messages when it doesn't function properly.
