You're setting up a new laptop for Pop!_OS after switching from Windows 10, but you're having trouble running Arma3 on Steam. You managed to play the basic version without mods, which feels disappointing compared to the experience with mods you've enjoyed. The Arma Unix Launcher is giving you a black screen, and Proton isn't working either. You have Lutruis and Wine installed, but you're unsure how they might affect things. Your system specs are an i7-7700HQ with GTX1050M, 8GB DDR4 RAM, running Pop!_OS 20.04 LTS. It's frustrating because Linux is a big improvement over Windows for you, yet this game feels like a roadblock.

To start playing as an Arma player, you need to install Arma via Proton and then launch it through the Arma Unix Launcher. Ensure your game and Workshop settings are correctly set up.

The version of Proton you're using is not specified. To verify the path, check your installation details or launch settings.
