Problem with laptop SSD startup.
Problem with laptop SSD startup.
I upgraded my laptop to a 500gb SSD recently. I had to transfer some of my login files from the old drive to the new one, and now it won’t boot Windows 10. I’m using Windows 10 and think the issue might be related to the license. I need this laptop for school tomorrow because I have important work saved and haven’t backed anything up yet. The keyboard isn’t working either—maybe a cable or drivers changed. My laptop specs are: Acer Spin 3 (SPN-314-53N-7464), i7 8th gen (i7-8565U), 12GB RAM (upgraded from 8GB), 500GB Crucial P2 SSD (old Sandisk Z400S 128GB), and a 1TB HDD.
Did you mount your windows installation on the SSD? It’s likely Acer originally installed it there, so if you didn’t reinstall on the new drive, that could explain why you’re not booting. Make sure the right SSD is selected in the BIOS (if you can reach it, laptops can be tricky).
