Hey, I have a 1x4Go and 1x2Go RAM in my Asus laptop running at 2133Mhz CL15. I’m planning to upgrade to 2x8 at 2666Mhz CL19. The Gskill Ripjaws F4-2666C19D-16GRS won’t boot. I noticed switching the order of the existing sticks (2Go then 4Go) works, but changing the 2x8 modules doesn’t help. My board is ASUS FX553VD and the BIOS is version 308. Does the motherboard actually support 2666Mhz? It seems it can only handle 2400Mhz, but maybe it can’t lower it? Help?

They may require manual adjustments. Laptops often act differently than desktop computers.

Consider using that memory carefully. Do you have a qualified vendor list for the memory you need? That’s a curated selection of options the manufacturers recommend, reliable even if it’s not commonly used on desktops.

It's odd to see removable slots without QVL. The "Go" feature isn't clear. Is this related to a specific company?

Go equals European Gb 1 byte per octet, which seems to be based on a laptop motherboard. People probably won’t search for a QVL there.

Similar to gigabytes, gigabits, and gibibytes perhaps. Usually they don’t. It rarely even counts on modern desktops. Asus probably still tried out some things. Finding the right data can be tough. For a certain memory speed, both the CPU and the motherboard need to support it. Sometimes the CPU can do what the motherboard can’t, and vice versa.
