Problem with internet speed affecting just your device.
I'm experiencing instability with my Wi-Fi connection on my desktop. During speed tests, it initially shows around 200 Mbps (network cap at 245 Mbps), but then suddenly drops to over 1000 ms latency and halves the speed. This issue began after installing i2p, which I recently removed. I've tested other setups—hardwired connection, speed test on my mom's laptop, and using her computer's built-in adapter—but all gave consistent results. I attempted a Windows reinstall on my boot drive, which improved speeds until I connected a game drive and ran additional programs. Now I'm using WIFIman on my phone and adjusting channel settings to avoid crowded networks. The fluctuating download times appear across all connections, but the worst happens on my desktop, affecting Discord calls and online games. Anyone have suggestions for resolving this? I've attached a recording (IP address hidden) of the speed test.
I saw it clearly! The issue was with the i2p Firefox profile—it wasn’t listed anywhere. So I removed Firefox and switched back to Chrome temporarily. That also accounts for why my connection worked after reinstalling Windows but failed when using the game drive and installing programs.
