I recently switched to Gigabit fibre at my residence. During a speed test using an Ethernet-connected PC, I achieved roughly 900 to 980 megabits per second, which translates to about 100 to 120 megabytes per second. However, when downloading games on Steam, Xbox apps, or EA titles, my download speed rarely exceeds 60 megabytes per second. The connection also experiences significant fluctuations—sometimes reaching 60, other times dropping to 12 and then jumping back up to 40. Despite updating Windows 11 and the Ethernet drivers, I haven’t seen any improvement. Any advice would be invaluable.

you can't guarantee any specific service will give you full gig speeds, especially if there's traffic on their end.

You can achieve 1TB/s internet, but the game server's speed is limited by its own capabilities. Upgrading your internet won't improve its performance.
