Problem with HP laptop powering up.
I got a almost Destroyed Hp laptop today The disply is broken, Some cables is missing (Touchpad, Power button, Optical drive, wifi card), No harddrive The laptop do take power and the usb ports is getting power and the power led is on Cpu heatsink (It is passive cooled) and when i plug in a harddisk it is spinning up But the problem is It doenot disply anything The internal screen flickers so does any external screen it just flicker and go back to no signal Does anybody know any fix The Troubleshooting i did Connected a external keyboard and tried anyof the locks light up (Num lock, Scr lock...) It didnt Connecting Multiple other Things to usb all recive power but no data Plugged in RJ45- No life there also (No light on the switch or on the port) (But plugging into a router i have lying around the light on the router is on but no mac adress in the clients list) Tested with or without the battery Tested with or without the screen removed all cables that is not necceray (But it is hp so) Reseated the ram Resetted the bios Removed cmos battery (it does have charge) No Shorts atleast with my testing i cant find anything getting warmer that is not meant to get warmer The ram is not getting warm But it is Low power DDR3 Even when Harddrive is spinning the HDD led is not turning on SPECS if You want HP 15-bs545TU - https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c05562630 If i plug anything into this Device the monitor Come back from sleep but it just says No signal The monitor is LG and if iam on a another source osd is saying input available for switching
Several parts are missing from the board, which means it’s not ideal for the project. The only reusable component is the 4GB DDR3L RAM. If I ever encounter another broken HP from that time period, I might be able to repair it using this board as a donor. It was an enjoyable experience.
