Hi everyone,
This is a weird post so bear with me please.
I have my PC (RTX 2070 Super) connected to my Samsung Q9FN (2018) through a Yamaha AV Receiver. Managed to get 1440p at 120Hz working great with the desktop by using Nvidia Custom resolution but have an issue using it fullscreen in some games. The main culprit is Destiny 2, which whenever i choose fullscreen (as I want to play with HDR), it then defaults to outputting the signal at 4k but rendering at 1440p and only allowing vsync at 60hz. I can get 1440p at 120hz to work properly with windowed fullscreen, however I then lose HDR.
What i want to know is whether this is an issue with going through the receiver or the game etc? Weird thing is, i can get 1080p 120Hz to work fine in fullscreen, HDR (as long as desktop is set to 1080p 120Hz).
Side note: if i connect the PC straight to the TV, i can get fullscreen 1440p 120Hz, HDR, but then i lose proper 5.1 surround sound.
Any help much appreciated. Be curious if anyone else has had any similar issues.
