Problem with GTA V D3D12.dll crash
Yesterday, a friend gave me GTA V as a gift because it was on sale. I installed it and started playing, but after about two minutes the loading screen froze and the Social Club window appeared, warning that GTA V had unexpectedly closed. Checking Event Viewer revealed an error: the application name failed with version 1.0.1604.1, and the fault pointed to d3d12.dll. I looked into the details and tried changing DirectX to a newer version, updated my graphics drivers, and even changed my GPU model, but the issue persisted. Now that I’m using the original game, it crashes immediately without any mods or changes. I’m still trying to confirm if the problem is with the DLL or something else. Thanks for your help!
I also faced problems with GTA, so I looked up the error code and followed a tutorial. It’s been a while now, so I don’t remember the exact details, but you might want to give it another try.
This was the issue I addressed, but it didn’t make a difference, and most of what I did was just routine driver updates—things I’d done before.
It might be necessary to reinstall the DLL, as these errors can be challenging to resolve
