I've been facing some performance hiccups after beginning to play the game on my PC last night. Occasionally, certain elements won't load, and when I start driving, buildings take longer to render. Could this be related to my GPU or CPU? It seems to occur even at medium settings, though the benchmark suggests I can handle higher configurations. My system has a 780ti processor and an i5 2500k at 3.3ghz.

Your CPU is handling the game well, but GTA V is quite demanding on processing power. You were checking the CPU usage across all 8 threads on your 4770k processor while playing in single-player mode.

It's really frustrating, but I see a pattern here. I'm using a Q8200 and a GT640, and parts of the game keep failing to load. I have to pause whatever I'm doing until the chunk is ready before continuing. It seems like the game mentioned low CPU speeds as a reason. Have you installed the game on an SSD or an HDD? If it's on an HDD, maybe try moving it to an SSD instead.

What storage device are you using for the game?

It's pretty straightforward. You don’t need to redownload the whole game—just transfer the folder and you’re good to go. HDD to SSD is easy enough.

I transfer the file to the intended directory, then re-download it to that new location. Steam will identify any missing folders, but since everything is present, it will only scan for files without taking further action.

It's a large file, which means it'll need a while to process;p

Someone suggested running the game at 720p, but lowering the resolution causes the monitor to shut down. Music plays through, but pressing Alt+Tab wakes it up again. What’s going on?
