Problem with GPU performance. Device stops functioning unexpectedly.
Hi everyone, I built a new rig recently (late January) using the 7600X, a B650 PG Riptide board, 16GB DDR5 4800MHz RAM (planned upgrade later), and an RTX 3070. It comes with an ASUS MAG 650W PSU. I'm facing some unpredictable problems where the GPU crashes under heavy load occasionally. I've tried swapping out the PSU, checking memory overnight, verifying Windows installation, and running disk checks. I don't think it's temperature-related since the GPU can reach up to 81°C and shouldn't throttle until a higher limit. The symptoms are a sudden black screen, and even after restarting the GPU driver via the shortcut, the issue persists. The Event Viewer shows no errors related to the GPU, and no blue screen events occur. I've noticed that disabling the iGPU in Device Manager helps, but it's still inconsistent. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Check the CPU temperatures. The PSU type is unknown, and the replacement you attempted was low quality. A weak power supply might cause overload.
The CPU stays below 70°C and the PSU is an MSI MAG A650BN rated for 80+ 650W. The same problem occurred with a Corsair CMX650 80+ Gold PSU. I’m trying to prevent needing another PSU if possible, since I already have two.
