I own a Gigabyte GTX 1050 OC low profile card. While playing games today, touching the GPU caused it to overheat significantly. I stopped the game and looked at temperatures via Task Manager, the built-in gaming engine, and HWinfo. All readings were around 29°C, but it was much hotter in reality. The fan speed remains unchanged, and I suspect it isn’t throttling, so I’m concerned about damaging the GPU. Any suggestions on how to resolve this? (i7 4790, 8G DDR3, GTX 1050.)

Between the decision to leave the game and inspecting its temperatures, the card probably had sufficient time to settle. The GTX 1050 uses no more than 75 watts of power.
I wouldn't be concerned.
Even seventy-five-watt incandescent bulbs are too hot to handle.

I observed the temperatures after playing and they remained at 29 while the GPU felt extremely hot. This indicates a likely issue with the temperature sensor. I am now reinstalling the graphics driver.

I should also mention that the temperatures remain consistently at 29.4 C. Never 28 or 30.

Temperatures starting from 20°C will feel warm, exceeding 25°C becomes hot and surpassing 30°C is extremely hot (to the touch).

Even when idle, the temperatures remain precisely at 29.4 c. The readings stay consistent regardless of any adjustments made.

The driver itself doesn't influence power usage, but the firmware does.

It's a problem with the temperature sensor, not the power usage.

The card is operating correctly. Just refrain from touching it.
