Problem with flash storage not functioning.
Problem with flash storage not functioning.
I connected everything I had to attempt the BIOS flash. A white light appeared in the USB port three times when I pressed the MSI MAG X570 button. I then connected a 850-watt PSU with an 80 PLUS Platinum certification, which is fully modular. I downloaded the BIOS file, extracted it and renamed it to MSI.ROM. After plugging it into the USB port next to the flash button, I switched the PSU and pressed the flash button. Nothing occurred. Sometimes a white light would flash inside the USB port but never return. It's been about 20 minutes and no progress was made.
You're asking about the meaning of a statement: "i only have psu plugged into the psu to flash bios." This likely refers to your setup where only a PSU (power supply unit) is connected to the PSU for flashing the BIOS.
Set up the CPU, RAM, and GPU on the motherboard. Also connect the 4/8 pin CPU power (and GPU if needed). Plug in a monitor and boot the system through BIOS. If successful, you can update the BIOS from within.
