Hello everyone, I'm really struggling and thought I'd reach out for assistance, hoping someone might shed some light on this situation. I've tried posting on Reddit but didn't get any responses. The issue involves a Nucbox ICY BOX IB-377-C31 HDD enclosure with an USB A to C cable. When connected to the NUCBOX, read/write speeds are 44 Mbps, but with the same cable and device, it jumps to 180-200 Mbps. I'm using Windows Pro and have checked drivers, updated BIOS, tested all ports, and even looked at other USB devices—all showing USB 2.0 speeds. The enclosure sometimes connects and disconnects unpredictably, then stabilizes. Any advice or insights would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Check the CPU utilization per core during read/write operations to the drive. Review temperature readings and clock speeds. Consider running a benchmark tool such as Crystal Disk Mark on a high-performance system and using NUCBox for testing. You might notice issues with the USB connection or low performance mode in the NUCBox, possibly due to BIOS settings that restrict speed and force low-power operation. This can impact overall performance.

Hello everyone, thanks for your responses! I purchased a different enclosure that supports 5 GBPS instead of 10, and everything is functioning properly. This makes me uncertain about the outcome. It seems either the ICY BOX IB-377-C31 is defective (though only in the nucbox case), or the nucbox wasn't able to handle the connection. Again, appreciate your time helping out. I hope this thread assists someone later.
