Hello everyone, after spending a lot of time researching, experimenting, and even consulting GPT, Gemini, and especially my grandma, I'm still stuck. A few days back, Steam began downloading very slowly—about half to one-tenth of its normal speed. This only happens when using Steam, not other services. My internet service provider isn't the problem because a neighbor with the same plan works just fine. The issue isn’t my hard drive either; download speeds remain consistent whether I use an HDD, SATA SSD, or NVMe SSD. So far, I've tried: restarting my PC, restarting my router, clearing DNS settings, changing DNS, using a VPN, emptying Steam's cache, reinstalling Steam, and switching to different download regions. None of these steps helped. I really hope someone has experience with this and can offer advice. Thanks.

Confirm if the file is loading at a normal pace or if the unit conversion from megabits to megabytes occurred, since bytes use 8 bits per byte. Steam typically uses megabytes by default.

You're certain about the distinction?
