Problem with Computer Restarting
I have tried repeatedly without finding a remedy for my issue. My office PC is functioning normally until it restarts every 15 seconds, shutting down and rebooting again...this cycle continues indefinitely. The display remains blank throughout. Despite everything appearing operational, I replaced my CPU from a Pentium G3900 to an i5-7600, added an aftermarket CPU fan, and upgraded the power supply to a 600W unit. Now I am trapped in this continuous boot loop. Here are the actions I have taken:
Specifications: Gigabyte ga-b250m-ds3h, i5-7600, id cooling se-214-xt CPU fan, Kingston HyperX Fury 2x4GB DDR4-2400, Samsung 850 EVO 250 GB SSD, Thermaltake Smart 600W PSU.
Just a note, all components remained unchanged except the PSU, CPU, and fan cooler.
1. Verified that all connections were secure. This is my third PC build.
2. Confirmed proper CPU installation with no thermal issues detected.
3. Ensured the CPU fan was correctly mounted and operational.
4. Reset CMOS by removing the battery and touching the positive and negative terminals, following the manual instructions.
5. Disconnected non-essential peripherals such as USB mouse to simplify the setup.
6. Based on PCPartPicker’s estimated power draw of 180W, I did not feel the need for an additional PSU.
7. Checked with Gigabyte’s website to confirm compatibility of my motherboard with the new CPU.
8. After disconnecting everything and restarting, I double-checked all connections were tight and secure.
I’m at a standstill and believe it might be a minor oversight I’m missing. Any advice or assistance would be extremely valuable.
This idea is a valuable proposal—returning to the initial setup would provide useful insight.
