Hey everyone—just wanted to share that I was planning to replace my RAM modules but accidentally missed how close the CPU cooler is to the memory. The Dark Rock 4 looks right next to it. I’m curious if swapping the cooling fan to the other side of the tower would noticeably change the thermal performance.

Simply move the fan, which lifts it slightly, preventing it from pressing against the RAM.

If you plan to keep the fan on the opposite side, simply directing air toward the rear fan to exit the case works fine

The air would continue to flow through the radiator. Additional intake fans on the front are also present but not shown.

The design focuses better on maintaining pressure rather than moving air quickly. This works well with intake fans that bring in fresh air nearby.

You can also obtain clips for a 120mm fan to fit that cooler, and adjust the push and pull settings accordingly. Right now, I'm using the reverse configuration (120 pull, 140 push) on my test bench.

The upgrade to the Corsair CMW16GX4M2Z3600C14 uses very long RAM modules. This should handle a 120mm fan without issues.

You're checking if you're moving from a 4x8GB DDR4 3200 CL16 to a 4x8GB DDR4 3600 CL14 upgrade. It sounds like you're considering it mainly for RGB purposes rather than performance gains, especially since the change isn't significant on Intel 10th/11th gen systems.

I had prior experience with this project, so I intended to integrate it for faster performance, improved RGB, and better timing/CL settings. However, I chose not to proceed since my system already functions well—moving the fan risk performance would be unnecessary. The memory indicates it's AMD-optimized, not Intel (though it should still work). I'm only adding an RGB strip for additional color options.
