Problem with booting the motherboard.

I took the 24 pin from the motherboard and only left the 4 pin connected and i started directly the psu with paper clip and the pc cpu fan and psu started . Everything started But when i plug the 24 pin in mobo and try to turn on from mobo power sw pins it doesnt start at all My specs I5 2500k Mobo : Foxconn 2abf 8gb ram ddr3 Gtx 650 1gb Psu is advance mpt 5002 (500w) The mobo was working Fine until it happened yesterday
Adjust the 24-pin check for loose contacts. Drain the board completely by removing all attachments, emptying the CMOS battery, turning on the power switch briefly, then clearing the CMOS for two minutes. Rinse with water, ensuring thorough saturation, then submerge in water for an hour or two in a bucket or dishwasher without detergent. This process removes debris and often resolves issues. Allow it to dry for two days. This method provides visual confirmation but repeated dips (five times here) led to persistent problems that required restarting the board, so I’m proceeding with it as a test unit.
