I was updating my NVIDIA system when the screen went dark and strange pixels appeared. After waiting ten minutes, the lights flashed as though the display wasn’t working. I unplugged and plugged it back in, but nothing changed. I turned off and then back on the computer repeatedly. The process continued with a loading logo, then a black screen appeared suddenly, like before the login screen. My monitor started flashing and dimming without any visible output. I managed to enter BOIS, tried launching safe mode, but the boot process still ended in darkness when the window opened. CMOS was cleared. Still confused.

How long have you been using the 4090?
What is your power supply brand and model?
Igpu would've been useful here to remove the Geforce driver if the graphics card was shutting down due to power issues.
Inspect the PCIE supplementary power cables, ensuring they are securely connected and looking for any signs of melting.
Do you have another graphics card available for testing?

It has been over a year since late May 2023. No problems encountered.
Power supply model: MSI MPG A1000G PCIE 5 & ATX 3.0
I also have another one; please test it, it should take a few minutes.

Following a fresh installation and reconnecting the wires? Perhaps that's sufficient, just one or two things. Hopefully, that resolves everything.

I had removed it earlier to access the CMOS. I'm not sure what caused it to work, but after the other graphics card started up and I tried the 4090, it also booted. The NVIDIA update was installed and reinstalled to confirm. Hopefully that's the end, thank you for your help 🙏
