Hello,
I recently upgraded my GPU in May and have been experiencing black screens and stability problems since. I’m seeking advice on possible solutions. Before the upgrade, I had an MSI RTX 4060 with 16GB of RAM, and everything ran smoothly.

Details of the problem:
After installing the new graphics card, it functions correctly with default drivers. When I installed the NVIDIA drivers, the installation process would normally remove the old display drivers, allowing the screen to appear briefly before returning to black. Normally, the PC would restart, and the ASRock logo would show briefly on the motherboard. After a hard shutdown, the monitor would stop responding, and the system would become unresponsive again. The only way to see anything was to lower the PCI-E generation to Gen 4 or lower. However, even at that level, the system remained unstable, with frequent crashes under stress.

After each crash, a kernel power error appeared on PCI-E Gen 4. The latest error reported was: "The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x00000050..."

I sent the card to ASUS for return and they confirmed it was working fine. I reached out to ASRock and my manufacturer, but both stated they couldn’t help since the PC had been modified or prebuilt. I also let my 30-day return policy expire on Newegg, which prevented a return.

I’ve tried several troubleshooting steps:
- Updating VBIOS with NVIDIA UEFI tool
- Testing multiple driver versions (576.26, 576.28, 576.40, 576.52, 576.66, 581.15)
- Running the NVIDIA cleanup tool before each driver install
- Lowering PCI-E generations (works but still unstable with crashes)
- Disabling 4G encoding and Resizable BAR
- Reducing RAM clock speed from 6000 MHz to 5600 MHz
- Enabling CSM
- Updating motherboard BIOS to the latest version (10.03)
- Switching from DisplayPort to HDMI
- Using a secondary PCI-E slot
- Checking the PCI-E cable and motherboard connections
- Installing a fresh Windows OS

System specs:
CPU: Intel i5-14400F
GPU: ASUS PRIME RTX 5060 Ti
RAM: 64GB T-Force at 6000 MHz
Motherboard: ASRock B760M-C
Power Supply: APEVIA ATX PR-600W

I’m hoping someone can offer further guidance or suggestions.

Welcome to the forums, newcomer!
Installing the newest VBIOS with NVIDIA UEFI updater tool
I'm assuming you're referring to this page:
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-c...he...060TI-O16G
Power Supply: APEVIA 650W
Apevia is the manufacturer of the unit, and 650W is the stated power rating. What model does your system have? How recent is your PSU?

Hi,
The VBIOS update was initially performed by me upon NVIDIA's recommendation, but more recently ASUS completed it themselves after I submitted the card for RMA.
I'm uncertain about the precise model since the computer is a prebuilt unit. The system was assembled in November 2024, which suggests the PSU isn't very old.
EDIT: The GPU model is here:
https://www.asus.com/motherboards-compon...060ti-16g/
The previous one has a factory overclock.

Remove the side panels from the case, capture photos of the marked sides of the PSU, upload them to a platform similar to Imgur, and share those links in this discussion.

Hi,
I misspoke on the 650W, its a 600W powersupply. Here's the link to the PSU picture here:
